Banque de France Quantum Safe VPN

Quantum Resistant Certificates

Objective

Allow the clients of a certificate provider to buy long term certificates with « quantum resistant » option, and in the same time, backward compatible with current format of certificates.

Solution

CryptoNext provided its QS Library based BouncyCastle Java QS Tool, and integrated with the certificate provider’s PKI (Public Key Infrastructure).

Quantum-Resistant Time-stamping for PDF document

Objective

Due to the quantum threat, the integrity of digitally signed contracts is not anymore guarantee,including the signature date. The objective is to add on existing contracts a quantum resistant time stamp.

Solution

Build a platform of quantum resistant time stamping in partnership with HSM producer, and with the leader of Digital Signature.

Quantum Safe Functionnality Module for HSM

Objective

Allow the clients of Thales HSM (Hardware Security Module) Luna to upgrade their HSM with a hybridquantum resistant cryptographic option.

Solution

Integration of CryptoNext SDK in a «functional module» of the HSM, with a transparent use throughPKCS#11 API, while keeping EAL4+ certification of the HSM.

Quantum Resistant IoT Communications

Allow hybrid post-quantum solution for weapons systems between IoT Cortex LP SOC’s for securedcommunications with hybrid PQ key echange and authentication.

Solution

CryptoNext provided its QS Library with Side-Channel Security module based IoT communications QSTool, and integrated within SOTA communication architecture.

Quantum Safe PKI

Objective

PKI is a fundamental infrastructure for many use cases that needs to be upgraded with PQC due to the quantum threat to be able to implement business use cases.

Solution

Build a PKI Infrastructure based on EJBCA Community upgraded to hybrid PQC and test various hybrid PQ X-509 certificates with and without HSM

Quantum Safe End-To-End Android Encrypted Application

Objective

Whatsapp-like android application to send/receive encrypted documents using quantum-safe cryptography to secure the communication channel.

Solution

The application has been field tested by French special forces. This was one of the first large real-life deployment of quantum-safe cryptography on 150+ participants (military, national security, DGA,...) equipped with Samsung Galaxy smartphones in various operational scenarios. Experiments were performed with a private 4G network.

Quantum Safe Computing Infrastructure

Objective

Allow QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) manages the exchange of key (Quantum Cryptography) but doesn’t solve the problematic of authentication that can be solved with PQC (Post Quantum Cryptography).

Solution

Build a QKD backbone and integrate it with PQC solution for authentication.

ParisQCI consortium lead by Orange with CryptoNext responsible for PQC/QKD integration and 10 partners including Kets, Quandela, VeriQloud.
